Noise with Differential Signal in USB-6002 (DAQExpresS)

Hi,

I am trying to setup the USB-6002 to measure voltage signals from a 4-wire pressure sensor. Excitation voltage is 10V, supplied via a benchtop power supply. The SIGNAL(+) and SIGNAL(-) are both connected to ai1, and also connected to GND via BIAS resistors. I tried 10kohm, and then 20kohm, but the noise does not seem to get better. W

The 4-wire pressure sensor has a plaid ground shield, which I left hanging. Could this be a possible reason for the noise?

Spikes in Voltage from Load Cell using 6002

Good morning,

I would appreciate any help with this issue as I'm new to the DAQ/load cell world.

I'm attempting to measure voltage from a LCGB-10K load cell using a 6002 DAQ and a DMD4059 amplifier. The voltage reading has regular thick spikes as shown below.

I've tried shielding the load cell wire but it didn't help. My other theory is this is caused by the switching power supply PSS24-050.

Are these spikes indicative of any issue I need to consider? What may be causing this?

Please help me with the Error Code 1967353902/1967353907 (I/O Module disconnected)

Hello NI Community,

I would really appreciate any help with this problem as I am new to Modbus and DAQ in general.

We are using three ADAM I/O Modules (ADAM 6017, ADAM 6018 and ADAM 6024) to read and send Data. The ADAM 6024 Module reads the pressure, the actual flow rate and also sends the desired flow rate.

We also use an ADAM Gateway 4572 to connect Modbus RTU devices to Modbus TCP.

When I try to run the programm it sometimes (but not always) showes the error code 1967353902 or 1967353907. Also while the programm is running, the error occours sometimes (but randomly and also not always).

When I looked up the error code on the internet it says that the connection to the I/O Modules was interrupted. By running different tests, I can now be sure that the ADAM 6024 causes the problems.

Since the error does not occur regulary I dont know what to do. Does anybody have any idea, can tell me what might be the problem or where to search. That would be very helpful.

In the pictures below you can see the configuration and the settings for the ADAM 6024 Module.

Also you can find the discription for the ADAM Modules below.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards

Hello ,

I used NI6212 DAQ were input range is ±0.2 V, ±1 V, ±5 V, ±10 V .

What's happend if I specified in LabVIEW an input range of ± 0.05 V.

Does the DAQ take the nearest value , or the previous entered LabVIEW ?

Thx

Alain

NI-TB-9212 Compact DAQ (8 channel) is not reading value for a single channel

Hello,

I am writing here because I have looked everywhere else for information on this issue (and found none).

I have a NI TB 9212 temperature compact DAQ (8 channels).  I have been using this specific hardware without issue for a couple months. (And I have been using Compact Daq in general for several years).  After running a test last week, the AI-5 Channel would not read a sensical value (and all other channels were working just fine).  When I plug the thermocouple into the channel, the software reads a very low value (i.e., -9.1E8 °F).  This value undoubtedly corresponds to the value that would be given if no thermocouple was plugged into the channel (i.e., open).  In other words, the value displayed does not change after putting a thermocouple into the ports.

Here are the items I have tried.

Different thermocouples (and confirming they work in other channels).

I have tried bypassing the screw/wire connections, and touching the thermocouples directly to the chip leads that go directly into the DAQ.

Resetting the device in NI MAX

Updating all drivers in NI Package Manager

Using the hardware on a completely different computer with older (2015) Signal Express Software.

I have tried creating a simple new application with DAQ Express (the basic DAQmx task that is default in DAQ Express).

NOTE: For all channels except AI5, the raw voltage reading when the channels are open (no thermocouples) is about +73mV.  Although, for channel AI-5, the number says -73mV.  (This is the only difference that I was able to recon).

I can't help but thinking that maybe something in the device is physically broken.  I would be extremely grateful is anyone would be able to give some more troubleshooting info or advice on this.

How to connect USB 6221 connector block to DB37F cable

I'm replacing an old system that used a PCI 6221 via a 37 pin connector to a system.

As the new PC doesn't have a PCI slot, I have bought an USB 6221 and a DB37F (37pin to wire) connector.

The USB 6221 has 2 x 32 slot screw terminal blocks for Analog and Digital connections.

The DB37F has 37 bare wires and a female DB37 connector.

How can I terminate 37 wires into a 32 connector block???

thanks

Greg

usb 8451 install drivers not working

I'm trying to install the usb-8451 SPI DAQ on Windows 10 Box.  I've downloaded the NI serial drivers and the individual driver for the device, but after installing the device isn't entirely recognized.  Windows knows its there and even knows its am 8451, but it doesn't have a device driver for it.  The device shows up in NI MAX, but it doesn't recognize a driver for the device.  Any ideas?

cDAQ 9136 -200229 Buffer is too small to fit read data

$

Hello,

I have a cDAQ 9136 embedded controller running WES7 and I'm calling DAQmx 19.6 from MSVC 2019 using the C API.  In the controller I have an NI-9401 digital module and three NI-9215 analogue input modules.

When starting a task (DAQmxStartTask) with 12 analogue inputs spread across the three NI-9215 modules I get the error:

-200229

Buffer is too small to fit read data.

Buffer length: 110497

Required Buffer Size in Samples: 265188

Yet the buffer is set to 265188 with DAQmxSetBufInputBufSize, which returns no error.  And I've used DAQmxGetBufInputBufSize to confirm this is the configured buffer size.

What's going on here?  Is it a DAQmx bug?  Do I need to run three synchronised analogue input tasks, one for each NI-9215?  Why does it ignore the buffer size I set?  If I keep it to 5 channels split over the 3 cards it works ok.  But for 6 channels it wants 132594 samples, 7 channels 154693, etc. at a rate of 22099 samples per channel.  Interesting to note that 110497 is the max sample rate (samples/second) of the NI-9215.

Any help appreciated.

NI-9188 Issue with Silverlight-Error 2105

Hello all,

I am trying to use an NI-9188 cDAQ chassis. This chassis has been functioning with an old controller, I am updating to Windows 10 and when I try to change the networks setting through NI Max I am hit with the following error:

2105.PNG

I am using NI Max 19.5. I have done this upgrade on several other controllers using the same hardware and software and I have had no problem. I have tried using two different controllers to communicate with the chassis and I get the same error. I have tried reinstalling Silverlight on both controllers without any fix. I have tried doing a factory reset on the 9188 and I am met with the same issue. I tried to update the chassis firmware and the revision number went up but it responds that it failed to update the firmware. The old system has no problem communicating with the chassis. The old system also shows the aliases that I have set for the chassis while the new controllers show default names for all of the cards that are in the chassis.

I am able to ping the chassis, run selftest on the chassis and reset it, but restarts fail.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated,

Churchill

Driver for USB-6000 to work on Raspberry Pi

I followed the steps that was stated on this link below but still encountering a segmentation issue which is similar to the findings of most people who responded.

https://forums.ni.com/t5/NI-Labs-Toolkits/Low-Cost-USB-DAQ-Driver-for-use-with-Raspberry-Pi/ta-p/3533944?profile.language=en

Can someone confirm that the base driver is what the Pi needs in order to recognize the USB-6000? If yes, can someone here help me how to install such. I tried installing latest version (15.0) of NI-DAQmx base in Windows and I cannot even seem to use this driver on USB-6000.

I hope someone will respond here. Thank you.

USB 6001 RTD measurements

Hello Everyone! I recently bought a USB DAQ 6001 and need to use and RTD for temperature measurements. Since this module does not come with in internal excitation source, I built one constant current circuit using LM334 IC. Please find the layout of the connections I made. The data is 'NaN'. I am unable to figure out the problem. If there's a better way to provide external excitation, please suggest that as well.

Error while trying to acquire data using ANSI C

$

Hi, This is my first post here, so if I am asking the question in the wrong place please let me know.

I am trying to control NI USB 6221 through C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 using ANSI C library. Usually, everything works fine but when I try to read data from an Analog Input at the maximum possible sampling frequency (in my case it is 250k S/s) for more than a second in the continuous mode it gives me the following error:

"The application is not able to keep up with the hardware acquisition.\nIncreasing the buffer size, reading the data more frequently, or specifying a fixed number of samples to read instead of reading all available samples might correct the problem."

This error occurs when I use DAQmxReadAnalogF64() function to read data in the callback function that gets called when the required number of samples is available. I tried to increase the buffer size but it did not help. I do not understand why this error is happening because in all other situations it works fine.

Output constant Voltage from DAQ

I am currently stuck. I need to have a DAQ interface through LabVIEW and output a constant Voltage. not a signal. Basically, I need it to activate a relay once I activate it in LabVIEW. is this even possible? I have both a Digital IO DAQ and an Analog IO DAQ.

Triggered single sample from buffer for Digital Output

$

Dear all,

using a NI USB-6351 I would like to output a single sample from a previously uploaded buffer on the device memory when a rising edge of an external clock is detected on a second digital input, and to maintain this value until new rising edge is received or the task is stopped.

The clock could have non constant frequency hence the simple "trigger" to write all the buffer is not suited.

I have tried to use the option "Hardware Timed Single Loop" for the DAQmx Timing vi but it's an option not supported by the USB version of my board.

It looks like a very simple application but I wasn't able to find any example or suggestion.

Any help will be very appreciated.

Best,

Marco.

DAQmx Tasks Synchronization

Hello guys.

I thought I understood how to synchronize two DAQmx tasks together but I'm not so sure anymore, when running the code below I get the error -89137:Specified route cannot be satisfied, because it requires resources that are currently in use by another route.

I'm using NI 9403 DIO Module on on NI cDAQ-9174.

What am I missing? The goal is just to read inputs at the same time other DIOs are being written.

Cheers,

Jimmy

Analouge Input-Output delay

$

Hi

I am a new labview user. I am trying to implement a controller in real time using labview. For that purpose, I started doing analouge input output exercise. As a part of learning process, I was trying to apply input on a system, get the data and feed it back through analouge channel. However, I noticed there is a signficant delay between input and output, It was about 1 ms. Then i thought of doing the simplest exercise. I generated an input signal read it through labview and feed it back again. So, basically its task for ADC and DAC only. But still, it has the same amount of delay. I was under impression that if i do hardwared time data read and write, it would reduce the delay. But still, no change. Can anyone please help me out regarding that? or there would always be this amount of delay.

For the ref i am attaching the .vi file. I am using PXI 6363

Any kind of help would really  be appreciated

RTD Accuracy with USB-6210

$

I'm doing some preliminary design work on a test setup that will involve two Pt100 or Pt1000 RTDs and, potentially, a USB-6210.

Accuracy is a concern, and since I have no experience with RTDs and how well they work with NI multifunction DAQs, my question is this:

How accurate would, say, a Pt100 wired in a three-wire configuration if connected to a USB-6210?
